Beautiful Possum Trot Golf Club is the home of Mike Passmore’s Simply Great Golf® Academy. Possum Trot Golf Course has a traditional style with tree-lined fairways and a straight forward design. It has been one of the favorite places to play of the 90 golf courses in Myrtle Beach because of its outstanding maintenance and its friendly design (unlike many other courses that are too frustrating for many golfers). The course is ideal for conducting the academy’s on-course playing lessons as it presents the opportunity for every type of golf shot.

The practice center at Possum Trot has long been ranked as the finest complete practice facility on the Grand Strand. The driving range is tree-lined with beautiful tall Carolina Pines and target greens varying from 50 to 200 yards. The large tee area has well-maintained natural grass and the pitching area is a feature attraction with a u-shaped green and 5 targets of 25, 35, 45, 55 and 65 yards.

There are 2 large sand bunkers to practice your shortest greenside bunker shots with a high face to practicing your fairway bunker shots. The beautifully maintained putting-chipping-short pitching green is huge, spanning 60 yards from one end to the other.

The academy also has a large climate-controlled indoor studio with 3 tee stations for full swing and pitching, stations for video swing analysis, putting, chipping and a conditioning and training aids station. Our studio is great for escaping the rain, heat or cold while providing a great setting for continued Simply Great Golf learning.
